Bike Lane Buy-In Day!
Published on 3/2/2011
On Saturday, March 5th, show your support for the Madison Ave. businesses that support bike lanes for Memphis residents!
Many of you have asked about the plan for Saturday. The plan is as follows: the main group of bicycle riders will leave from First Congregational Church/Revolutions Community Bicycle Shop at 12:30 p.m. this Saturday, March 5th. Revolutions is located inside First Congregational Church at 1000 South Cooper St. ...This main group will ride to Boscos (2120 Madison), where we will meet up with others and enjoy a beverage at 12:45 p.m. From Boscos we will ride to Fino’s From the Hill (1853 Madison) for a sandwich at 1:30 p.m. We will leave Fino’s around 2:15 to distribute bike friendly business stickers to the 17 businesses (and growing!) who have signed on to support bike lanes on Madison Avenue.
In summary:
Departing at 12:30 p.m. at First Congregational
Arriving at 12:45 p.m. at Boscos
Arriving at 1:30 p.m. at Finos From the Hill.
The bigger this main group is the better…just imagine if all 200 of us who said “definitely attending” ride together down Madison Avenue. What a powerful movement – literally!
If you plan to support businesses independent of our group ride this Saturday, be sure to let the owner know you are supporting them this Saturday because they support bike lanes. We will support the following bike-friendly businesses*:
Bosco's (2120 Madison)
Fino's from the Hill (1853 Madison)
Fuel Cafe (1761 Madison)
Garden Path Studios (587 Madison)

If you haven’t yet written Mayor AC Wharton with your support of bike lanes – not shared lanes – on Madison Avenue, please take a moment to write the Mayor at Mayor@memphistn.gov
