Memphis Service Course Debuts Mobile Repair to Fill Gap Left by Latting Closure

Tulio J Bertorini | Published on 2/24/2026

MEMPHIS, TN — Following the recent permanent closure of the popular Latting Speed Shop, former lead mechanic and local racing standout Mason Schofield has launched a new venture to keep the city’s cyclists on the road. His new business,

Memphis Service Course (MSC), brings professional-grade maintenance directly to the customer’s doorstep.

Schofield, who has over a decade of experience wrenching on high-performance bicycles, is not just a mechanic but a national-level competitor. After a rapid rise in the professional ranks—transitioning from a novice to a Pro Road National Championship competitor in just 14 months—Schofield is now applying that elite-level "service course" mentality to his mobile shop.

Service Overview

Memphis Service Course is designed to eliminate the need for riders to drop off their bikes at a traditional brick-and-mortar shop. The mobile unit is fully equipped to handle:

  • Routine Maintenance: Precision tuning for road, mountain, and gravel bikes.
  • High-End Repairs: Specialized service for race-ready builds.
  • Convenience: On-site repairs at your home or office, ensuring no downtime without your bike.

“The goal is for you to have the most convenient and high-end service available without ever having to leave your bike somewhere else,” Schofield shared via the MSC Instagram page.
